A high-performance, sustainable indoor tennis facility in Margny-lès-Compiègne in France
SMC2 designed and built an indoor tennis hall measuring approximately 118.5 ft by 118.5 ft, covering two tennis courts for a total area of around 15,400 ft². This project showcases SMC2’s expertise in creating indoor tennis facilities that combine player comfort, energy efficiency, and durable materials.
The roof structure uses a combination of glued-laminated timber and galvanized steel, providing strength, lightness, and an elegant architectural appearance.
The roofing system includes a perforated steel deck, high-performance insulation, and a double-layer waterproof membrane specifically designed to support solar panels, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable energy use.
The façades feature translucent polycarbonate panels at the top to maximize natural daylight, with wooden cladding at the bottom for seamless integration into the surrounding environment.
A 1,390 ft² (27.7 ft x 50.2 ft) clubhouse, built with a timber frame and CLT floor, completes the complex, offering a welcoming and comfortable space for players and visitors alike.
