SPORT FIELD – HAMBURG (GERMANY)

Design and construction of a sports canopy in Hambourg, Germany

SMC2 built a 28 x 17m sports playground for a school.

The structure combines glulam timber and galvanised steel. The roof is made of a textile membrane.

This means that schoolchildren can practice their sports all year round, protected from the sun and bad weather. Natural light is enough to illuminate the multi-sports pitch during the day, thanks to the translucency of the textile membrane ; LED lighting takes over once the sun goes down.
