BEACH HALL – SAINT MARTIN DE RE (FRANCE)
COMPLETION DATE 2024
SURFACE AREA 10226 Ft2
Construction of a 10226 Ft2 timber-framed building with a tempered textile envelope, accompanied by modular changing rooms, dedicated to sand sports in Saint-Martin-de-Ré in France.
Designed to combine functionality and comfort, this facility was conceived with particular attention to the quality of materials and integration into its surroundings. The structure combines glued laminated timber and galvanized steel, offering both strength and aesthetics. The entire building is covered with a white translucent textile membrane, ensuring optimal natural lighting while providing protection from the elements.
The building features an efficient humidity control system paired with a mechanical ventilation system. This ventilation is regulated by a CO₂ sensor, which automatically adjusts the air renewal rate based on occupancy levels, thus ensuring a healthy, comfortable indoor environment suitable for intense sports activities.
The changing rooms, designed using an off-site construction approach, consist of two 3D timber modules prefabricated in a workshop. They complement the overall structure, providing users with a practical and functional reception area.
The building includes 65ft linear of sectional doors on each side, allowing for generous openings to the outdoors. These openings provide effective natural ventilation, essential for user comfort throughout the year. They also create a direct connection to the outside environment, in keeping with the original spirit of sand sports, which are inherently outdoor activities. Thanks to these doors, users enjoy a sense of space, light, and freedom, reconnecting with the essence of the sport while remaining protected from the weather.
